We are delighted to be sponsoring the Speaker at this year’s Acorns for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) lunch in Crowborough on Wednesday 2 April. The lunch is taking place at Crowborough Rugby Club and other sponsors include CooperBurnett LLP, AS Planning and AC Cars.
The speaker at this year’s lunch is Tanya Hollands, a Science Engagement Manager for CRUK, who will talk about current developments and progress within CRUK's research laboratories.
CRUK is the world's leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information.
The charity states: ‘Nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime, but we’re finding new ways to outsmart it, so that more people can live longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer. We carry out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and our ground breaking work, funded almost entirely by the general public, will ensure that millions more people survive. Together we are beating cancer’.
“We’ve sponsored this particular lunch regularly over the years and it’s great to be supporting such a worthwhile charity,” says Glenys Jones. “It’s always interesting to hear about the developments in the research being driven by CRUK and we are looking forward to hearing what Tanya has to tell us this year.”
Tickets (which cost £30 each and include a welcome drink, two-course lunch and coffee) are available by emailing Jan Brady: janbrady.acorns@gmail.com
