The United Church in Croft Road in Crowborough was packed on the night of Saturday 15 October for a programme of ‘Songs from the Shows’ to celebrate the life of Lucy Jarrett, who sadly died last year. Songs were presented by both the Langborough Singers and Singing For Fun Crowborough and, among those taking part were Lucy’s mother Elisabeth, her daughter Rhiannon and her sister Katie.
Lucy was brought up in Crowborough and enjoyed music from an early age – encouraged by her musical family. She was a member of TWODS and LAMPS and also, over the years, took part in concerts by the Langborough Singers.
She was also a singer and songwriter in her own right and sang locally here in Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells – at the Forum, Local and Live events over the years and at the Grey Lady - as well as in and around Gloucester where she lived most recently.
The concert was attended by Crowborough's Mayor Councillor David Neeves.
All proceeds from the event went to Epilepsy Research UK; Lucy had suffered from epilepsy since she was 17. We’ll confirm how much was raised in due course.
