Tester & Jones donates a stone plaque to new community centre
Tester & Jones, the Crowborough-based independent funeral director, has donated the stone plaque which commemorates the opening of the new Crowborough Community Centre by The Duchess of Gloucester on 18 April.
“The Crowborough Community Centre promises to be a great facility for the town and we didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’ when the team approached us about providing the stone plaque,” says Stephen Tester from Tester & Jones. “Providing memorials is a growing part of our business and we offer a wide variety of stones and lettering. We are proud that the plaque will commemorate the official opening for many years to come and were delighted to support the local community here in Crowborough.”
The plaque donated by Tester & Jones is nabresina – a white limestone.
The Crowborough Community Centre is a multi-purpose community and arts centre, which includes a 300-seater main hall and stage, a purpose built dance studio and fully-equipped meeting rooms.
The committee running the Centre is chaired by Chantal Wilson, who said of Tester & Jones’ donation: “Your willingness to help was so encouraging and heartwarming and greatly appreciated. The plaque is a great credit to your company and was a very significant contribution to making the official opening such a splendid and successful event. We are very fortunate to have such a community-spirited company in our town.”
Adds Glenys Jones: “Choosing a memorial can be a very important part of the bereavement process, as it is a focus for many years to come. At Tester & Jones, we can offer help and guidance whether your requirements are for a new memorial, plaque or headstone for a loved one or the refurbishment of an existing memorial.”
